I ' Scoring high on his ASVAB test r.. boosted him to success. Spencer v of all his classmates grasp helps the concepts not only of algebra, but also in physics. In August of 94 Spencer plans to attend a Navy Nuclear Power Program in Orlando, Florida. He received a $2,000 bonus for enlisting. There has been many recruiters who have come to Spencer wanting him in their programs. Besides all of this, Spencer enjoys playing video games, reading, and being an average teenager. V; 5 Sadlier wins PomJCheer competition Sonny Sadlier will be taking a trip to Phoenix in February to compete in the Arizona State PomCheer competition. Sonny, daughter of John and Marie Sadlier, sent in a video of her routine and was informed on January 6 that she had been chosen as one of three finalists from her division to win a chance to compete in the state competition. S. Utah University Deans List Twelve students from Kane Jacobsen, Tony L. Johnson, tant. County have been named to Southern Utah Universitys fall quarter Deans List. To achieve the honors status, students must earn a minimum grade point average (GPS) of 3.6, while carrying a class load of at least 1 2 credit hours for the academic quarter. Aurelia, J esse Cash, Scott Colson, Travis Tim Corley, Rachel Graff, Brian Ellen and Deborah Johnson are members ofValley High Schools Futue Homemakers of America HeroChapter. They are planning to paint a 40 x 12' mural on the side of the bridge by the Valley Elementary School for their FHA S.T.A.R. (Students Taking Action for Recognition) event project. The 4th, 5th and 6th graders of the Valley Elementary submitted pictures that they drew of the town businesses and people. Something from each childs picture was chosen to be painted in the mural. The murals purpose is to instill a greater pride in the youth for their town and individual self. It will cover up the graffiti. The title of the mural is going to be Great Potential - from a Small Proud Town, Pride-- a Drug Free Alternative. Thunderbird Hardware donated paint. The town donated $150 for paint and brushes. Permission from the road department and town was given for the massive project. Art students from the high school are planning to help paint the mural. The Johnson sisters have already spent several hours drawing up the mural. It will be painted and finished by January 21. The girls compete at regions in 4 weeks.
