I have left much of the letter writing to more efficient hands than mine, but feel at this time I too, should let all of the Kanab folks know what I believe about the failures of our city officials to work for the people of Kanab. 1 About the KCR roads Has not the condition of inadequacy been proved to all. But nothing done about it! Many questions will be asked about this at the Jan. 8 City Council meeting by KCR attorney Alan Boyack. Should be a very intersting meeting. city has strange ways of complying with public hiring practices. To my way of thinking, this clouds the employees iob title. When a person places nis or her life on the line for the citizenry, he should have a just clear title to his placement. Many of us have been shown the citys complete lack of proper maintenance in several different categories. The work that has not been done in Three Lakes canyon on our drinking water is totally appalling. The city manager assured us that the city had the money to maintain the springs, furnishing much of our culinary water. But to date after a court order issued in 1973 very little has been done to the property. It is in need of fencing, the collectors and constant cleaning of filth. This should be a number one priority on any honorable city department. After all, most of our drinking water comes from the Hollis Ranch. Further, Im certainly for a good fire department but do not believe that the planned build-- able units on the rig! What city monies go for the Fire Department maintenance? I believe the constant tabling of important issues by the council and taking months to complete a decision on many items, taking incomplete stands on some issues, the roads, the incinerator to name a few, shows a total lack of confidence in themselves as well as the city. people Forcingmost to realize the lack of cooperation in bringing new business into Kanab. Again I say, tourism is only half a loaf. Why not follow many other states example and have a full loaf? Make it easier for retirees to settle here! Bring in a trade school and keep most of the young at home. A good trade school also means the influx of manufacturing, more trade at the stores, more trade at restaurants, plus the rentals and much more. So I started looking for problems that could be corrected, and things needed to attract new residents. roads.
