The southern girls aie the nicest, so far' Davis said she was having a lot of fun learning the dances and different routines for the televised segment of the pageant. Her family will travel to Atlanta this week to watch in her compete the pageant. She's also had many opportunities to meet with national dignitaries and do volunteer work and make at public appearances events in both the D.C. and Atlanta areas. So far, Davis has had breakfast with children from a Boys and Girls club at the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington, visited a childrens hospital there, visited an Air Force retirement home and attended a fund raiser for the Childrens Miracle Network. Shes also attended cocktail parties and other social events for the pageant. But not all the pageant have been fun and activities games. While in the D.C. area, Davis was one of three contestants to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for the closing ceremonies of the World War II Memorial. as ments with House and Senate representatives. As Davis toured the Walter Reed Hospital with other contestants, she was singled out to visit injured soldiers in the brain injury ward while other contestants toured the hospital. well She was the contesonly tant accorded the honor, the result of being named the national spokesperson for the Brain Injury Association of America last August. She is a brain injury survivor who recovered from a severe injury to her frontal lobe in a cheerleading accident in 2000. Davis had hoped to use the media exposure from the pageant to further national understanding of brain injury in behalf of victims and their families. It looks like she's getting her wish.
