AS Burn plant cash flow questioned by mayor BY TOM BUSSELBERG Clipper News Editor LAYTON Centerville Mayor Michael Deamer is questioning why Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District is so flush with cash. As a member of the board of trustees and an accountant by trade, Deamer said I have been a very strong advocate in the years Eve been there of them (distnet) trying to reduce the rates they charged all of our citizens for garbage pickup. That said, he questioned a financial report received for last year showing an increase in cash of more than $5 million and an increase m assets of $7 million. Last (fiscal) year we did a 22 per- over cent reduction, but most of that went to commercial fees. For residential, if you had one can, it was reduced $1, but if you had two, it was increased by $1, so a net of nothing, Deamer continued. During the time Eve been there (on the hoard) theyve been making tons of money. Its a very efficient operation. I think management does an outstanding job.
