Show E H Davisilorizons Thursday, May 22, 2003 Davis County Clipper Page receives Matheson award BY JAN HOPKINS Clipper Staff Writer - FARMINGTON Davis R Carol Commissioner County Page was recently awarded the Scott M Matheson Award m recognition of her advocacy efforts to children and youth The award is based on years of demonstrated professional and personal commitment, leadership and advocacy m the development and coordination of better service to children and youth in the state of Utah. Page has been committed to developing needed services and has worked hard to promote collaboration between agencies m meeting the needs of underserved populations including children and youth. She has served as a member of the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice, chair of the Title V Programs Committee, chair of the Children's Justice Center State Advisory Board, and committees too iaimerous to count. Page is not one to be content to merely appear on a committee roster She provides advocacy and leadership and ensures that she is an active, contributing part of the process. She searches for new ways to energize the system and creatively approach Her credo is not problems whether we can do it, but how we can do it Three earn Eagle Scout rank Jordan Michael Jenson, Michael Van and Brown Wagenen received their Eagle Scout Awards on May 6, 2003. They are members Troop 453 sponsored by the F armington 2nd Ward. Michael is the son of Sterling K. and Joleen Jenson The project he organized was the collection and donation of religious books to the Davis County Jail Michael graduated from Viewmont High School in 2002 I le was an honor student participating m DECCA and helped bring the first state tennis title to Viewmont I le has attended Utah State University and will leave in June to serve a mission to Edmonton. Canada Jordan, son of Ken and Svd Brown, Farmington, is a senior and honor student at Viewmont High School He enjoys all outdoor activities especially snowboarding, wakeboarding and lacrosse. 1 le recently participated in the Utah senior lacrosse game.
