She suffered some broken vertebrae in her neck She could have been left a quadriplegic or worse. Today she's still recovering, wearing what she described a a P(V, 4 , Mothers Day 2003.. halo brace around her head and neck to immobilize the broken vertebrae Soon, she expects to be free of the halo contraption, a treatment uncomfoi table in its own way Thankful foi the promising prognosis. Carolyn endures the brace, the occasional pain Slowly, but surely returning from her biush with a frightening fate, she retains a cheerful attitude and a pleasant smile. She's also pleased wuth her Mother of the Year nomination and selection, though she thought others might be more deserving This is honor, she stated a true Carolyn, and husband Paul, are; the proud parents of six childien -f- our daughters and two sons.
