Show THE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT Music season set for spring The SUU department of music has announced its schedule for the spring season. Highlights include the April 8 Third Annual Solo Piano Competition with guest lecturer/ adjudicator Dr. Maurice Hinson, professor of music at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. The music department will also host the Fourth Annual Southern Utah Choir Festival on April 7 and . The festival attract high school choirs fr m around the state and region who join voi es iD a mass choir. Special guest director f r the fe tiva l is Dale Watland, f und r, music director, and conductor of the Dale Warland Singers. UU Opera Theatre presents a double fcatme in May. The Impresario by Mozart and The Broadway Magic of Rogers and Hart will both be perfonned. On May LS, th SUU Orchestra' Concerto/ Aria concert will spotlight some of SUU's most talented students. Soprano Amy Duncan, junior, will be performing "Vedrai carino" from Mozart's Don Giovanni, UDeh vienon tardar" from The Marriage of Figaro, and "Ah, je veux vivre" from Gounod's Romeo and fuliet. Lauralynn Bartholemew, a senior horn player, will perform Franz Strauss' Hom Concerto in E flat major, Op 8. Other planned concerts include several individual performances, an SUU band concert, SUU choirs concert, OPUS concert, Jazz Band concert, and a small ensemble concert.
