Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smart and children Dennis, Jane and Gordon drove to Idaho Falls last weekend to attend the wedding of their son Alan and Miss Randy Mowry, who were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Dennis served as best man for his brother at the reception, Jane was a Bridesmaid and Gordon served as an usher. The couple will be honored at an open house on Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smart in Roy. Dr. George Reimschussel has been in the hospital. He was taken there when he became ill last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Karras are the proud parents of a baby boy, their first child. He was born August 5. They formerly made their home in Roy and came to Utah to attend a family reunion in Huntsville. The heartfelt sympathy of the community goes to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olmsteadand their family. Their daughter her husband LawLiliene, rence Evan Totton, and their two children, and Rodney Camilee were fatally injured on Friday in an accident near Lehi, Utah. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in Clearfield. Many others in this area have had deaths in their families recently and we extend our sympathy to them also. Clyde Kerby of Roy passed away on Saturday of a heart attack. His funeral was held on Tuesday with Bishop Earl Morris of the Roy Third ward conducting. He is survived by his wife Merle and three children James Harrop, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Harrop died several hours after birth, last Friday. Graveside services were held on Tuesday at the North Ogden Cemetery. A tragic accident occurred last week in Nyssa, Oregon which took the lives of relatives of Roy residents. Two spray planes collided in mid-ai- r crashing into a home setting it afire and killing a sister of Mrs. Ernest (Carol) Bell, Mrs. Evelyn P. Schul-thie- s. Mrs. Thelma Garner went to assist the children of Mrs. Schulthies and suffered a heart attack. She died to the hospital. Mrs. Garner was a daughterof Mrs. Lettie Stoker and a sister of Mrs. Marvin Venable and Ivan Stoker. Mr. and Mrs. Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Venable and Mrs. Stoker drove to Oregon to attend the funeral services of the victims. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bingham motored to Farragust, Idaho last week to attend a family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Robert have a baby girl, their first child. She arrived on Aug. 5 and is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cevering. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wardleigh all of Roy. Mr. and Mrs. Aldus Johnson took their family to Yellowstone Park last week and report that they had a very enjoyable time. Betty Ratliffe is in a Salt Lake City hospital where she is having therapy for her back. Norma Egginton has returned home after spending two weeks in Arizona visiting Mr. Hummel, born in St. Paul, Minnesota, began his career with IRS as a Revenue Officer in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in 1960. He worked as a Unit Supervisor and Section Chief at the Southeast Service Center in Chamblee, Georgia, from 1964 to 1966. Mr. Hummel also taught Political Science at Georgia State College. Mr. Hummel graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1956 with a degree in Political Science, and has attended graduate school at Duke University in North Carolina. Hummel fills the post left vacant by Mr. Willard L. Bud Pierson who assumed the Assistant Director post at the new Fresno service center. The new Assistant Director is a graduate of the IRS executive development program. The IRS uses the executive development program to identify and train officials who demonstrate executive potential. During the Service Center phase of the program, Mr. Hummel spent two weeks at the Ogden Center.
