LeClair surrendered five hits, all of them singles, he struck out seven while walking three, which two of the tree walks came in the first inning. He also hit three batters all in the first two innings. He kept the game under control and within reach, never giving up more than one run in an inning, but the Lynx offense just could not get on track. Fourteen Lynx batters went down on strikes and they could only come up with two hits in the entire game, a two out single by Chris Jim in the third inning. Jim was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double on a great throw by the Mustang right fielder and a two out single by Kevin Simmons in the sixth frame. Fredonia scored their lone run of the contest in the sixth when Skyler Palmer led off with a walk, followed by a walk by Andy Smith after both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Palmer came in to score on a sacrifice fly by Jake Pratt. Jake Pratt pitched two innings ofscoreless ball. The sixth and seventh frames he struck out one and allowed two hits. After the Mustangs scored two in the top of the first inning, the Lynx came back with one in the bottom of the inning and they would have tied it, but when handed a gift run they opted not to take it. Lynx runners on first and third and not a very good throwing Mustang catcher behind the plate, they held the runner on first until the third pitch before sending him to second when the catchers 'throw went through to second. The second baseman dropped it, and the runner on third could have strolled home easy, but they held him at third. Later in the game the Mustangs, when faced with the same situation, sent their runner on first on the very first pitch, and by doing so they added anotherrun to their score. Karlis Wauneka pitched the fourth inning for the Lynx giving up three runs on two hits and a walk. The next game on the Lynx schedule his here in Fredonia on April 5 , when they play Ash Fork. This game will be their first conference game of the year. Hopefully the weather will be a little better by then. Lynx fans come on out and support the team. On April 5,' boys baseball and girls softball vs. Ash Fork and again on April 26 both boys and girls take on Seligman. These are the only two home games remaining on the schedule.
