Julie Brown Kane County Hospital donates software HUGE thank you to Canyon Book and Honeys Jubilee for their donations. The Fredonia Head Start was in need of office supplies and these companies came to our rescue. They were very willing to donate paper supplies, pens, markers, staplers, tape and many more useful items. Not only do they support Kane County but they went beyond that, and helped us here in Coconino County. When we went to them and told them our situation, there was no hesitation whatsoever on their end with this generous effort. We all know that most of the local businesses seem to donate things without thinking twice about it, and we just wanted to reassure them that all things that have been donated go to good use for the community. Again, we just wanted to say Dear Editor: Stephen Howells, Director of Thank You!!! Business Services at Kane County Hospital recently sented Fredonia High School with a software program. Steve Winward, Technology Director at FHS, stated that the software would allow for individualized student work folders, and is compatible with the districts technology plan. John Livingston, Business Education teacher, at FHS, appreciated Microsoft NTs security features and robust capre- pacity. Thank you for supporting our school and students. I have to tell you that that day had a profound effect on me. I have such a reverence for this great country that we live in. I love and respect President Bush and the men and women who are serving in the military. Tonight, as I watched the show, I saw the firefighters who were at great risk during the whole ordeal in New York City, that I felt that I needed to tell those same types of people who are here in our community a heartfelt thanks. We have an exceptional Fire Department who do what they do as volunteers and most of the time without gratitude. We are lucky to have many EMTs who serve in the same way, as volunteers, and they serve well. Not. only are both of these professionals called in emergencies, but they are required to be trained on their own time so they can work without pay. We have law enforcement officers who deserve our gratitude also. So I wish you would just consider this little note a great big THANK YOU to all of them. They are frequently the victims of unintentional neglect and cruelty. -- Requiring special feeding, care constant temperatures, and these extremely vulnerable little animals are poorly suited as pets. Small children often break their fragile bones, and cause other fatal injuries. Many baby bunnies, chicks and ducks are killed or maimed by neighborhood dogs and cats. And, those animals who do survive the first few weeks are often released to animal care and control agencies, where many must be euthanized because no permanent homes can be found. This Easter, you can help prevent cruelty by giving your little ones stuffed animals. And, after the holiday, if your family is ready for a new pet, consider an adorable, adoptable dog or cat from your local animal shelter.
