W'52 ,,. . 0 MHS Class Reunion to 1945 Like salmon returning to their native waters to spawn Many alumni of old MHS have awakened this dawn To renew old acquaintances, to reminisce and recall Those fond memories of all thats transpired for us all. From near and from far they have travelled to be At this auspicious occasion where they are hoping to see Many chums from their childhood, some pals from their past, To relive some fond moments with old friends, at long last. The school can be proud of the people its turned out, Community leaders of all kind, and of that theres no doubt. Doctors and lawyers, merchants and farmers, Housewives and mothers, soul mates and charmers. v Teachers remembered, from a long list to pick Maintaining good order with the old hickory stick. There was Andrews and Beecher, Moody and Hughes, Zola and Parsons or whomever you choose. Forty years or more have gone by since we left this old school, And we have all changed, there are none who are exempt from this rule. Some hair lias turned gray, some skinnles gone stout, Most of us wear glasses, and some teeth fallen out. Now many are retired, or shortly will be, And our fraternal association Is the AARP. years our age group has seen. From the teams of horses to the flying machine, From the outhouse out back, to the modem bathroom, From the old crystal radio to our man on the moon. But what worderful The nickle hamburger, five cents for a coke, And when coke was for drinking and not something to smoke. We didnt need pot to have a good time, For a Saturday movie was only a dime. was always a time and a place for romance, And the old Arlon hall was a great place to dance. There Now these years are behind us but we remember them well, When we all get together we have these stories to tell Our numbers diminish, and we have lost quite a few, In wars and In wrecks, and some to the flu, But In memory they are remembered and are with us today, And to out departed classmates It Is homage we pay. So this toast I will offer to old grads that are here, May your days all be happy and filled with good cheer. GORDON W.
