HUKUM 1 DU 303 A IT Adult For Gird Netters Tourney Top Intermountain Tennis Assotournament action ciation bounces from the east slopes of the Rockies to the west side this week with staging of the annual adult meet at the Salt Lake Tennis Club. The 57th annual ITA adult meet, oldest and most respected tennis event in the area, continues through Sunday with top netters from Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Montana competing. The meet, started in 1904, has been held continuously with the exception of the war It follows the ITA years. junior championships held last week on the campus of Colorado State University at Ft. Collins, Colo. Defending champion Jim Osborne will miss this year's meet. Osborne, ace netter for the University of Utah, is on the grass courts tour in the east and wont return in time to compete. That leaves the field wide open. The women's singles field will boast such outstanding players as Janice Stevens, Mary Nichols and others. Utahs contingent of juniors made an excellent showing at Ft. Collins, winning seven titles and losing out in the finals in 10 dividions. Harold Sears and Greg Young of Salt Lake City divided honors in the Sears beat boys division. to gain the 3, 3 Young 20 and under singles crown and Young of Salt Lake City Top-seed- ed 6-- 6-- divided honors in the boys division.
