as an uncommitted delegate to the Democratic National Convention was not a matter of principle but one of necessity Too busy with local and county politics the Davis County Democratic chairwoman said she had no time to make a considered choice for president during the delegate selection process last spring She describes herself as “professional political volunteer” But with the nominating vote only hours away today the time has come for Mrs Henson to decide And she has chosen to make her vote a philosophical statement Mrs Henson and four other of Utah’s six uncommitted delegates will cast nominating votes for their Democratic governor Scott Mathe-so- n The vote is a protest against the rule passed Monday binding delegates to their original presi- dential choice “The one thing I was committed to was the open convention” she said Tuesday as she sat in Madison Honecker on Aug 9 at a hunting lodge on a lake north of East Ber28-2- lin Schmidt will also visit two other East German
