Stripped of his office by a minority of owners, Kuhn got his revenge through Peter Ueberroth, the businessman baseball has chosen to be its new commissioner. Ueberroth didnt want this job. When they first approached him about it 15 months ago, he told the owners they already had the best man for their commissioner in Bowie Kuhn. Besides, he said, he was busy as president of the Los Angeles Olympics Organizing Committee. Ironic, was the way Kuhn viewed that development. Then, the commissioner advised Ueberroth, demand the title of Chief Executive Officer for the post and insist that both league presidents and all departments report directly to you. According to coach Phil Howa, 200 local wrestlers will be among approximately 400 competitors in the meet. The g event will get underway at 10 a.m. Saturday and run most of the day, Howa added. The top three winners in each category will then qualify for the state freestyle tournament set for March 17 in Ogden.
