Show Wednesday, March 30, Sun Advoca te, Price, Utah 1983 Enhance your Easter table with an egg tree The custom of an egg tree, credited to the Pennsylvania Dutch, is a delightful way to display decorated Easter eggs. For the tree Itself, you will need a small branch. Remove the leaves and place it upright in a small container. If the container is shallow, anchor the branch with floral clay or sand cover and the and out the top. Cut a small slit in the leaf cap and pass the rickrack through it. Strawberry Egg: On a red egg, paint on seeds with a black felt-ti- p marker or paint. Cut a leaf cap from green fabric construction paper. Cut a piece of narrow rickrack 6 to 8 inches long and knot one end. Pass the unknotted end through the hole in the bottom of the egg Egg: Cut wide lace trim into four lengths. Glue the bow to the top of the egg and tie the rickrack ends into a loop. Daisy Egg: Cut flower designs from a piece of decorative trim and glue to each side of the egg. Outline the design with narrow rick-rac- k and glue to the egg. Thread a 6 to length of rickrack through the egg and form a loop as in the Strawberry Egg. Foil Design Egg: Cut 12 diamonds and 12 V shapes from gold foil paper. Using 6 diamonds each, form and glue flower shapes to each side of the egg. Surround with V shapes. Thread a 6 to length of cord through gold the egg and form a loop as in the Strawberry Egg, passing the cord through a gold flowershaped spangle at the bottom and top of the egg. h Bluebird Egg: Cut three pieces of construction paper. Fold each piece into accordian pleats parallel to the short side of the paper. Pinch pleats together about Yz inch in at one end and snip through the middle pleat.
