Owings said that it would be helpful to have another officer available to work when he is on vacation and at some other times when help is needed. Councilmen said they recognize the need but have no e funds right now to hire a officer. Wellington receives some assistance from the Carbon County Sheriffs department. He was 55. Bom May 2, 1932 in Ferron to Raino Jonas and Ruby Jensen Hyita. Married Patricia Kizerian Xiras March 28, 1958 in Ely, Nev; later divorced. He spent his childhood in Ferron and Kenilworth, moving to Dragerton, now known as East Carbon, in 1944. He graduated from Carbon High School in 1950, attended Carbon College (CEU). Member of the LDS Church. Employed at United States Steel Corporation, Horse Canyon coal mine for over 30 years. Retired as maintenance superintendent in 1983. Served as supervisory committee chairman of Horse Canyon Employee Credit Union, member of Rocky Mountain Coal Mine Institute, and was past president of East Carbon Rotary Club. He did many community Claus. He is the beloved father of Bart Jay Hyita, Price; Robyn Marie Marakis and Kathleen Aim Jones, both of East Carbon. Other survivors include two brothers, George Hyita, Silver Peak, Nev.; Pete Hyita, Cedar City; one sister, Patricia Holyoak, Moab; six grandchildren, Heather N., Jonas R., Matthew J. Hyita; Casey S.
