Show Thursday, Oct. THE GREEN SHEET 13, 1988 California Honeymoon For The Jeffrey Waltons Out My Window Ethel Bradford When Judgement Day rolls round and were all standing there in line waiting to hear "The My headline for those two dear people told the world that they were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Fifty years instead of those well earned Sixty years theyve lived through. Verdict on what we did while in these bodies, to be the most calm one in line. You see. Ive had practice. Curses on my head! A plague on my house! All those ancient words could have been heaped upon me (and they werent) but I deserved them. Every Thursday morning is Judgement Day for me. Thats the day when I quickly come up against the truth of if I put the right picture with the wrong story. Its when I find the wrong headline with the right story. Its when a name that anyone should know how to spell comes out How could I have done it? Well, who knows the how of it, but every one knows the what of it all. One great big mistake. Im going wrong. Its the day when one comes up against ones actions and last week was a good example. There were Fay and John Campbell who were married in 1928 and have spent all those marvelous 60 years right here in the Salt Lake valley. John was a boiler maker for Kennecott Copper and Fay spent those years doing what she has always done best . . . being a wife, mother, grandmother and now greatgrandmother to 30 youngsters. Imagine! Wonderful! Thats a lot of living ...a lot of time ...a lot of work . . . and a lot of worry, care and coping, but worth every minute of it for each day and week were also filled with a lot of love and joy. And can you guess what I did? Really, can you guess? Oh, I made a nice story for them, their two pictures looked like something out of a treasured album, but . yeah, its those "buts that have caused all my grey hairs. Nothing .. else. It happens. It happens. Not just to me, but, with so many people having something to do with typing the story, putting it on the computer and all that stuff, there are many desks where the error could be placed. But this one was my error. I wrote the I made up the page. See, I goofed. headline. Theres not one thing I can do to last weeks story about the Campbells and their Sixtieth are you reading me? . . . Sixtieth anniversary, except me muttering to myself, "Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa." re-d- o ... Now remember, someday when were standing side by side in that hng Judgement Day line, waiting for our Verdict on life, people will be able to look at me and wonder why Ethel can be so calm and collected.
