After a tough first half, where defenses dominated, Granite scored two quick touchdowns to start the second and added a third in the fourth quarter. Michael Curtis scored Cottonwoods only touchdown in the final period. The Midgets earned a 0 win over Granite as Cal Beck and Chuck Gandre each rushed for over 400 yards total behind the blocking of Scott Calder, Ryan Duckworth and Seth Ward among others. Excellent plays were also recorded by Jarad Park, Jeff Wright, Chad Stewart, Manny Torres and Jim Stevenson on defense, according to Dallas Cecil. Cottonwoods Gremlins shut out 47-Granite as Shawn Andreason scored three touchdowns and Rion Sundloff, Riley Nichols, Sean Jacobsen and Cory each one added Eldredge and Doug Buckley threw a touchdown pass. The entire defensive unit played well. The Mighty Mite team then 2 with edged out Granite Jarriet Shaw and Clark Wright each scoring a touchdown. Other excellent defensive efforts were noted by Jacob Huggard, Mike Rosales, Chris Ogden, Maio, Shayne Olson, Joel Huff and Chad Sundquist. Kelly Colson had two sacks, Ogden recovered a fumble and Craig Casper batted down a pass. The Murray Gremlins blanked with outstanding Skyline 14-- 0 defense from Jeremy Chatterton, Spencer Sachs, Peter Fondaco, Landon LeBlanc, Cameron Webb and Zachary Adams getting key tackles, J.R. Merlich Cottonwood SOUTH VALLEY. er To say that the Junior Division team from Cottonwood Ute Football had a good day offensively against Granite would have to be an understatement considering the Cottonwood team won 41-On defense, Jon Hoovey, Chris Fox, Chad Eberhardt, Quinn Wheeler and Dustin Cannon all had exceptional games, holding Granite scoreless, intercepting several passes and recovering several fumbles. On offense, John Durham ran 50 yards for a touchdown then added another on the ground and one through air on a pass from Greg Oliphant. David Hooper was the leading ground gainer for Murray, while George Kelsch was the top tackier with 11 takedowns. Also posting good defensive efforts were Tafi Matagi, Joe Crandall, Hooper and Ryan Graham.
