Two touchdowns in the first 21 seconds of play set the stage for the wild and woolly game it would be, as Judge for its defeated Granite 28-2- 5 second straight Region Six win. Meanwhile, Granite dropped its fourth straight league game. Judge met Logan Wednesday (after press time), hoping to get even for a 56-thrashing it received the first time it met Logan on Sept. 9. Judge will play Murray on Thursday, Oct. 20 in a 4:30 p.m. game at Judge, a game that will go a long way toward deciding how the teams will' represent Region Six in the playoffs, which get started Friday, Oct. 29. Granite has a tough task ahead of it as it took on Highland Wednesday, and will close out its season on Oct. 20 at Jordan in a 0 POPPING FREE . . . After sustaining a hard hit from Grangers Tyler Wilder (2) and Dan Tampopeau (44), among others, Cottonwoods Julius Dickerson (19) looses control of the football, which falls under the 3:30 game. Though it didnt produce as much drama as last years, thanks to to key matches during the opening day of play, Judges successful defense of its 3A Girls State Tennis title at BYU Friday and Saturday was just as satisfying to head coach Bob Juhauz and his players. Judge finished with a 26-1- 9 edge over second place Ogden, while Timpview was a distant third at 12 and Provo fourth at eight. Murray was eighth with three points, while Jordan finished down in the pack with one team point. Judge managed to place players in all five finals, all three singles matches and both doubles tests, getting some help at third singles from Timpview, THE KIDDIE KEEPER d 3-- Titans Grab Fifth In 4A Tennis Meet 13-ya- VanWoerkom. Should Judge beat Murray, Jordan beat Granite and Tooele beat West, the league will wind up in a three-watie. Some method of breaking the tie for the purposes of seeding will have to be figured out. At press time it was not known what method might be used. The Spartans scored on their first possession of the second half Friday, starting on their 21 from where they marched 79 yards for the Slaughter to Hansen scoring pass. Granite got the ball back in the last 20 seconds. A couple of desperation passes failed. Judge Coach John Colosimo was pleased with the play of Sonne, who had over 150 yards passing and also ran for 100 yards. Reynoso, along with his long kickoff return, had a fine defensive game, while Matt Nelson picked off two passes from his cornerback spot. Dave Sasich and Sherman had outstanding defensive games. Granite Coach Mark Nielson said that he thought that Sharp had the finest game the coach had ever seen for a high school player as Sharp not only caught three touchdown passes, but his catches were all amazing. He also had praise for the play of quarterback Gines Paul at Brotherson, tailback, and Wes Burningham at tight end. Nielson felt that Duncan and Santore had good games at tight end, while Fuka Darren, Brotherson and Fusi Leea had played fine defensive games. which out a highly regarded knocked Ogden competitor. Judge got individual championships at second and third singles with Lisa Paal and Chelsea Deakins and second doubles with the team of Erin Gamble and Una Pett.
