Show 'the Thursday, November GREEN SHEET 19, 1987 Cindy Frazier Is Mrs. Mark Rakes Mark Rakes and Cindy Frazier were married in a double ring South Stake ceremony at the Murray Center on November 14 A wedding breakfast was held at the Ponderosa and a reception given at the Murray South Stake Out My Window Ethel Bradford Cosmopolitan is one of my favorite magazines. nomen's publication to drop the kirk, kitchen, kinder image, and during the 1970's shocked us because it told us how h e really felt, instead of how society thought ne felt. It uasriske and we bought it by the millions. It uas the first Hell, perhaps it doesn't portray every women's life, but it tells us how women, on the cutting edge of our group, are lii ing. He thought it Has shocking, unbelievable, frightening, but . . . inexorably, what they have told us about ourselves one year, ne accepted as our natural right only a year or two later. Cosmo has pointed out the way we were already heading, but hadnt sensed or admitted. Even to out selves. So I explain what makes this latest issue a pet feet delight. Its ever been the way of life for men to date and marry women who are younger than they are. So taken for granted, that when some couple broke that rule, it was always commented upon. Either with an explanatory note telling why usually family or money) or, with the sly innuendo that the woman, probably wealthy, was legalizing a paid partner. But, Cosmo tells us, that's all in the past. Very ordinary women, today, are not only marrying later in life, but the percentage of those women who are choosing y ounger mates is growing at a wonderful rate. omen are coming into their own. Its been slow, but it's arriving and the swing toward older womenyounger men, is steadily accelerating. H Ive never intended to make this column a personal confessional, but, after all, what else is there for me to write about but myself and how I act and i to my life? See????? Non, The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Richard Frazier, Murray, and is a student at Murray high The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Del Rakes, Kaysville, and is a graduate of Davis high Marilyn McMillan was maid of honor and others attending the bride were the grooms sisters, Raelyne and Lon Frazier Ring bearers were Mathew and Tyler Lucas, and Jason Tanner was were junior usher Flower girls Chelsey Todd and Melissa Lucas, and Eileen Hatch attended the guest And so I tell that my husband, Brad, was older than I and that was that. But Brad died and with a shock, I found that my life did not end when his did. Oh yes, I cried, I was angry, I denied it, I h as frightened and I wished it were otherwise, but eventually a day came when I saw that life was going on and I could either sit and be depressed (and people soon quit feeling sorry for you) or I could pick up the pieces and go on living. And that is what I did. And so, so, so. There have been three perfectly wonderful males in my life since Brads death, and they have all been y ounger than I. book Dave Mudget was best man and the ushers were Dan Frazier, Gary and Daniel Rakes, Carey Day and Carl Durfey Pre nuptial parties were hosted by her MIA class, and the brides aunts, Beverly Bishop, Janice Todd, Vernetta Erekson, and Marilyn, Ruby and Nelma McMillan The newlyweds will honeymoon at Park City and will make their home in Murray I was nervous about the whole thing, worrying that they might find out that I bested them by a few years. But then, one day (not all at once, for heavens sake, I do have some scruples) I realized they'd not only known, but also, didn 't care. At first It just happened that they liked me . . . not my birth certificate. And so all was well, but still, the social rules being what they were, I didnt shout it out to the rooftops. But now Cosmo tells me that it's all right. In fact, its getting to the point where its not simply a trend, but an established fact that men are finding the older woman more appealing than the younger one. Missionaries Women, hitting their stride by ages 30 to 40, now marrying men aged 25 to 35. Whats are more, theyre having children, buying homes and acting like any newlywed pair. And . . . fewer are hitting the divorce courts, the figures tell, for home and children are adult projects and Homecoming H hich doesn 't bother me one bit. My biological clock is past the children stage, but forgoing out to dinner? A show ? An evening spent reading together? Watching TV? My, oh my, yes, and now there will be no apologies (even to myself) if the man happens to be younger.
