Show r 5B THE GREEN SHEET Frost Mascot Comes To Life WEST VALLEY. Choosing a name for an Eagle isnt easy, as students at Frost elementary found out last week. The students participated in a contest to select a name for their school mascot. The winner was fifth grader Josh Colvin with the name Hector. Hector will be very busy this year, said PTA spokesman Judy Larson. He will help give out birthday treats each month, will appear in the Halloween parade and spirit week assembly, and will assist at any other activity sponsored by the PTA. A McGruff assembly was held last week at the school, during which the winning name was announced. Officer Dale Ann Wright swore in safety patrol members and explained the McGruff safety program, sponsored by the PTA. A McGruff house is a temporary haven for children who find themselves in an emergency or frightening situation," explained Mrs. Larsen. We have 30 McGruff homes in our area and feel we are doing our part in taking a bite out of crime. We hope this program will ensure the safety of our children. Student body officers were introduced, including Tim Condie, president; Erin Carver, vice president; Michael Stephens, secretary; Barbara Bryner, historian. Safety patrol members include Jared Isaacson, Nathan Ransom, Steve Stauffer, Mike Greenhalgh, Jeremy Skadal, David Moss, Jared Christensen, Matt Arnold, Aaron Bush, John Geertsen, Sheri Lamereaux, Brenda Sorenson, Bryce Sanders, Troy Farnsworth, Dahlia Pritchard, Jaclynne Stacy Beal, Tracy Starks, Ronda Olsen, Julie Bench, Marci Murdock.
