State quarterfinal play begins Nov. 5 and 6 at the University of Utah. An Olympus turnover, the first of eight on the day for the Titans, set up Taylorsville's opening score on Fri day, a plunge by Shane drive. Sudbury, capping a Sean Jones point after try was good as the Warriors led Early in the second quarter, Olympus knotted the score with a seven-yar- d keeper by quarter Brian Seagle. The score closed a 80 yard drive that included runs total 25 yards by Todd Loertscher. The point after was added by Rob Byerline. Moments later, the Titans broke in front as Dustin Childs intercepted a Warrior pass at the 10 and Seagle followed with a scoring toss to Paul Nelson. The point after was again good. Taylorsville struck back in a hurry with Scott Wilberger breaking a run. Jones' PAT tied the score at Again Olympus moved in front, in five plays, the driving last one going for seven yards and six points by Gary Munson. Seagle added of rushing in the series. Coach Mark Nielson says that it looks like the third place team will probably play Mountain Crest, the second place team in its region, with the fourth place team playing Bear River, the first place team in that same region and the fifth place team will play Cedar City, the number one team in its region. After the initial Tooele score, Granite played good defense but did not get an opportunity to tie it up un- two-poi- 0 9-- 8 til midway through the third quarter when a Paul Gines to David Davis pass connected for a d touchdown. But the two point conversion try failed. In the fourth quarter with eleven minutes left Mark Niederhauser field goal. He tried kicked a still another one later which missed, but the Granite defense rose to the occasion and shut Tooele down after the initial touchdown. Coach Nielson said that David Davis had an awesome game as he scored the touchdown, intercepted a pass late in the game when Tooele was driving and his punting kept Tooele in poor field position all day. Amir Pezeschki led the Farmers running attack with 88 yards and Mike Olson, Tafusi Leea and Mike Workman all had solid games on defense. CLASSIFIED ADS work! PLACE A clssified ad today!
