Names of winners have been announced in the Granite School Districts annual Junior High Invitational Art show, held Thursday and Friday at Granite Park junior high. Art supervisor for the event was Darrel Allington, with Margo Arrington chairing the exhibit. Entries came from seven of the districts junior high schols, Granite Park, West Lake, Wasatch, Evergreen, Bennion, Hunter and Eisenhower. Joyce Rawson and Max Durrant served as judges. Winners were chosen in each division, with prizes including a traveling trophy, individual trophy and a $100 purchase award for best of show, along with gift certificates from area businesses. Receiving the trophy for best of show for a tile piece titled The Battle was a group of students from Eisenhower, Corey Anderson, Jason Horne, Kenner Jeremy Oviatt. Kingston and In crafts, best of show went to Brent Martinez for his ceramic piece, Hot Dog. Best of show for fine arts went to Dave Roberts for an acryllic work titled Rockies.
