Shannon, along with Roger and Melanie Hoffman and Steven Kapp Perry, will be featured in concert at Taylorsville high auditorium tomorrow (Friday) at 7:30 p.m. Shannon Denton is becoming more and more of a household name as we become familiar with her music on KUTR radio (860 AM), and hear frequent guest appearances around the valley. Shannon and her husband, Walt, live in West Jordan with their five children: Rachel, 12; Sarah, 9; Erik, 7 and Melissa, 3. The family moved there in March from West Valley City, having been residents of the area for 12 years. Walt manages Sunburst Corporation in South Jordan, as well as owns and operates Master Sound Productions, a sound reinforcement system that comes in d very handy for Shannons performing. With a wide background of experience, performing not only for church and civic groups in Colorado, Utah and Washington while growing up, but also in touring with BYUs Sounds of Freedom, Shannon was ready when opportunities of recent months came her way. The first big notoriety came from recording on an album for Janice Kapp Perry, The Light Within. Her voice seemed especially suited for the No Orsong, dinary Man. Shannon has a tape of her own released now, entitled Because of You, produced by Kenny Hodges. Hodges is a former music producer at Osmond studios and owner of Dayman Music in Provo.
