Show 8B THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, Septembers 1986 Coisnimimiity Calemdair Eleven Days Galaxy Of Country Stars To Shine On Grandstand Stage At Utah State Fair SALT LAKE. Eleven days of the Utah State Fair will feature 11 top entertainment attractions. That promise awaits some 400,000 Utahns expected to attend the Beehive States biggest event according to Art Jones, fair director. The fair, which opens today (Thursday), will extend through Sunday, Sept. 14 and all 11 entertainers are scheduled to give two evening performances apiece, he said. Concerts will take place in the all new, uncovered grandstand on the Utah State Fairgrounds, 1000 W. North Temple. Eddie Rabbitt leads off the all star schedule with concerts at 6:30 and 9:15 p.m. tonight (Thursday) Introduced to the guitar on a Boy Scout hike when he was 12 years old, Rabbitt has made a steady climb to the top of the country music charts. He began his move toward stardom by heading to Nashville in 1968 with no contracts and no contacts. The Miami Sound Machine, one of the hottest performing acts in the coutry today, will be featured tomorrow (Friday). The group recorded its first Top 10 singles this year with Conga and Bad Boy from their gold album Primitive Love, in addition to recording two songs for the films Cobra and Top Gun. Saturday features Utahs own Marie Osmond. Her whirlwind careers in recording, television, films and business all started when she appeared on the Andy Williams show with her brothers. She recorded a gold record, Paper Roses, at the age of 13, and by 16 she The Donnie and Marie Show on television. A few years later she launched her movie career and recently has expanded to the world of both fashion and health. Sunday the vivacious Reba McEn-tir- e - named female vocalist of the year last year by the Country Music Assn. (CMAi - will take to the grandstand stage. She has recorded one smash hit after another including I Can't Even Get The Blues and There Ain't No Future In This. In addition to her music, she is also a former rodeo performer. On Monday, the female vocalist of the year will be followed by the CMA's 1985 male vocalist of the year - George Strait. He also received the association's album of the year award for his gold hit Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind.
