The end of the school year gives us time to reminisce about the events of this year. The excitement of the new year is a feeling that comes with the autumn weather. Cyprus welcomed students into the year with the Hello Day Assembly, which can be remembered in part by the Tastes great, less filling chant by the football team. Homecoming, probably one of the most important weeks of the school year, was full of activities and was topped off with a Homecoming assembly that was enhanced by a visit from Governor Bangerter, a Cyprus alumnus. This year has shined with a school spirit among the students that has not been seet at Cyprus since the schools reconstruction. This excitement was apparent throughout the year especially at the games. Cyprus usually does well in sports and 1985-8- 6 was not an exception. It can be recalled that the girls did well in volleyball, but did even better in basketball taking second in state competition. Mark Smith was an outstanding wrestler and even went to national competition. The guys basketball team won their first game in the state competition since Cyprus became a 4A school. The list of achievements continues in baseball, swimming and soccer to name a few. This has been a great year. It is also important to recall the Spinnakers once again. The "Spin-me- s took second in state, and ranked in the top five in nationals. Kris Kennard won first in the national competition. Recalling the years achievements and events could take a years worth of listing and the school year is not over yet... Are all of you Pirates ready for the water fight that will be held on the football field after school?
