Owtn and Scripts Produced - Pupils Putting Punch In Reading At Lake Ridge a love of books. So much of what children have to read is on the dull side, but when they learn to put expression into it, it MAGNA. Classes in dramatic reading are providing summer activity for students attending summer school at Lake Ridge elementary. Chris DeAdder is teaching two groups, totaling 40 students. Second and third graders are learning how to read with emphasis and expression. The older children learn how to take a simple childrens story and transpose it into a script to perform as a readers theater, said Mrs. DeAdder. Students who develop a script are also in charge of producing it for the class, she noted. We are hoping this will build interest in reading for fun, developing During Summer . brings the printed word alive, added. she COMPARE A just for fun recreational ball class is also on the agenda, in which students play a variety of games, including tether ball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and whiffle ball -an indoor baseball game using a ball that looks like it is made of swiss cheese, and cant hurt, said Mrs. DeAdder. Green Sheet Review Continued from page 1 Senex brings hoots of laughter from the audience and Jeff Larsen as Hero has incredible appeal. Both are accomplished at making their faces not only tell the story, but in being especially appealing to the distaff members of the audience. Laurie Brown plays the dumb blonde to perfection as Philia and Michael Swain is effective in an obnoxious role as Mile Gloriosus. Also lending considerable talent to the cast are Jan Smith as Domina, Chris Watkins as Erronius, Rodney Montague as Marcus Lycus as well as Nanette Horman, Patti Olsen, Wendy Summerhays, Bob Aamodt, Scott Cooke, David Croper and Darin Stites. Director David Dean has produc iS! ed a truly wonderful show that makes the most of everything he had to work with - especially a standout script that is seldom seen in this area. Its billed as a musical comedy of epic proportions and thats legitimate. The show is enhanced by George R. Maxwells sets, and outrageous costumes by Louise Van der Hoofdt, Verona Hunter and Sue Du Puis. Jeffrey Prices orchestra does a fine job and gets into the act with costumes and a grand entrance. its a show that should be seen at least once by every theater buff in the valley.
