Roberts, starring Harry Carey Jr. as the Captain and James Cash as Mister Mister Roberts, written by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan, was first presented on stage in New York City in 1948. It was later put on film and both stage and screen starred Henry Fonda as Mister Roberts. Since Harry Carey Jr., was featured in the film version with him and James Cash was his double in On Golden Pond, they bring a certain amount of expertise and nostalgia from the original version to Promised Valley Playhouse. The director, Joanne Parker, is the founding artistic director for family theater in Bellevue, Wash, and holds a degree of B.F.A. from Roberts, opens at Promised Valley Playhouse on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Itwill run Wednesday through Saturday through Nov. 3, beginning at2p.m. Carey and Cash, both known for in film, TV and stage, will head a cast of superb local talent featuring Gordon A.
