THE UTAH SYMPHONY will launch its 45th subscription season, its sixth in Symphony Hall, tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday, featuring music director Joseph Silvers-tei- n as both conductor and soloist in a program containing the works of Beethoven, Kirchner and Strauss. Meredith Wilsons Music Man is kicking off Pioneer Memorial Theatres season. It opened last night (Wednesday) on Lees Main Stage and is scheduled to run through Oct. 3. Set in River City, Iowa in 1912, The Music Man is the familar tale of a traveling salesman who arrives to fleece the town yokels by selling musical instruments and band uniforms to the youth and then hopping a train before anyone realizes that no onehas learned to play the instruments.
