Reflective tape will e be applied in a program sponsored by VFW Post 7442 at Granger elementary on Sept. 14. Tape will be applied to bicycles "Lite-A-Bik- at Granger elementary, 2450 W. p.m. The strips of reflective tape will make the 3800 South, from 2-- 5 bikes more visible in the headlights of an automobile from all angles. The shape of the bicycle at night will closely resemble its shape in the daylight, a VFW spokesman said. Bob Tripp, chairmain of the program, commented that children should not be out bike riding after dark, but if they are, the bike should have reflective tape. He pointed out that about 800 people are killed each year in bicycle accidents, 62 percent of them children under 14. Another 28,000 are injured. Four out of five fatal bike accidents occur after da k. The extra warning provided by reflective tape can help save a childs life, the VFW official said. Additional information may be obtained by calling Mr. Tripp at 967-206- 4. Candidates To Meet At Granger Club GRANGER. A night will be sponsored by the Granger Lions club here next week.
