Show Fills 'Wasted' Hours 5B THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, August 9, 1984 Midday Class Schedule Created TAYLORSVILLE. Utah Technical College is creating a midday class schedule, beginning with .fall quarter, offering a variety of classes between 12:30 andJS p.m. The wasted afternoon hours are expected to fill rapidly with students, said Dr. Max S. Lowe, vice president of instruction. Initially classes will be offered in accounting, business management, data processing, electronics technology and general education, including courses leading toward the associate of science degree, he said. Most institutions have a very light class load during the afternoon. Dr. Lowe said. However, we think this is a service whose time has come, there being so many people needing to upgrade that obligation, he said. Ann Erickson, dean of the school of technology and general education, their professional skills, more pointed out that classes will be workers emplyed through taught similar to the present evenhours, as well as house- ing schedule. Also, they wrote notes to enclose in the boxes, which will be sent, by the Red Cross, to children in disaster areas world wide. The display includes information from the Red Cross, posters, sample boxes and pictures of children around the world, with decorations made by the girls. The object is to demonstrate the to share need for people world-wid- e friendship, love and understanding, explained Mrs. West. The girls are also involved in sewing doll clothes for the Toys for Tots program. The dolls were received from Voluntary Action, directed by Elaine Smart. The girls are refurbishing, cleaning and generally fixing up the dolls, arranging their hair, and making dresses and other clothing items for them, ready for the Christmas program sponsored yearly by the U.S. Marines. Jodi Black is president of the club. "V t 47th So. & 26th West 2lW FOR BACK TO SCHOOL 3 FROM THE STYLEMASTER ' 8 Hair Cuts - Perms 26 HAIR SALON (Includes conditioning treatment and cut.) 4616 So.
