Check Sodium To Check Heart Ailments Bottled water is not necessarily the answer to high sodium levels, either. Some bottled water, particularly mineral waters, may contain sodium. Many bottled waters, however, list the minerals on the label so you can select one with low sodium. If you want to lower your salt intake, check your water, stop adding salt at the table or when cooking. You can keep foods tasty by adding various herbs and spices. Also, check the labels of canned and processed foods for they can have high sodium levels even if you dont add any salt during cooking. Theres Bebe Lindsay, a young 78, who, in spite of suffering from Parkinsons disease takes part in the aerobic classes, hosts bonco parties at which she serves pie, enjoys crafts and crocheting and even lifts weights. Hes very independent, helps us a hes good at moving furniture so there is room for dancing." Residents at the Center have their own Town Council, which meets monthly to discuss and review suggestions or questions from residents. A mayor is elected yearly, and council members selected. Carl Sill is the current mayor, assisted by Alice Bryant, June Berenstein and Orrin Berry, who, incidentally, has 94 great grandchildren. Mrs. Berenstein is active on the council, a member of the Centers walking club, who walk every day regardless of weather. She runs up the flag on many mornings to relieve Wayne of that duty, which she enjoys, plays the dining room organ, and enjoys bingo. When her family visit, she loves to go for a ride on the back of her sons motor bike. She is thinking of going back to school for a liberal arts course, probably in Florida, and we shall surely miss her,' says lot, Lindsay is presently Mrs. Sodium is one factor that may contribute to high blood pressure and heart disease. As a result, many people are cutting down on salt. However, there is one part of the daily diet most people forget. Their water. The American Heart association recommends no more than 20 milligrams of sodium per quart of water for people with heart conditions or high blood pressure. Yet some local water systems have more than eight times that amount. The sodium level also carries over into soft drinks and beers that are made using the local water. hospitalized with a broken hip, but plans on getting back into the swing of things as soon as possible. She is one great lady - the kind who gets out and does things on her own, rather than wait for an organized activity to come along, says Wayne Russey, recreation director at the Taylorsville Center. Problems caused by the aging process or through incapacitating illness need not mean an end to activity and fun, and many of the Centers residents are living proof that the senior years continue to offer challenges and opportunities for learning, and for being of service to others, he notes. About 40 of the facilitys 80 residents take part in the morning exercise club, which offers aerobics and exercising to music. They dont all come every day, but we usually have more than 20, tells Wayne. Oscar Abbott and Jane Jensen lead the class, with help from Dorothy Bow. All are residents of the Center. That Oscar is a remarkably healthy man. The fact that he can no longer see too well doesnt even begin to slow him down. He cuts his Wayne. Mrs. Bryant grows vegetables in a plot behind the Center and two other residents, Pauline Smith, 83, and Idona Lay have a flower garden. Kerry Jensen, at 96 the Centers oldest resident, has, relates Wayne, a charming sense of humor. She enjoys sitting in the foyer watching people go by, chatting with them, and loves TV. Lorenzo Denison is 85, loves to dance, and jogs every day. If the weather forces him to remain indoors, he jogs around the halls. Nothing stops this youngster from enjoying his exercise, and hes a strong supporter of the monthly 37,941,000 78,576,000 Investment Securities Net Mortgage Loans (Less: Loans in Process, Unearned Discount, Deferred Loan Fees, Specific Reserves, and Valuation Allowances) Net Commercial Loans and Leases (Less: Loans in Process, Unearned Discount, Deferred Loan Fees, Specific Reserves, and Valuation Allowances) Net Consumer Loans and Leases ( Less: Loans in Process, Unearned Discount, Deferred Loan Fees, Specific Reserves, and Valuation Allowances) Premises, Furniture, Fixtures and Leasehold Improvements Investment in Affiliate (s) Accrued Interest Receivable Real Estate Owned Real Estate Investments Other Assets SUZIE Q's THRIFT STORE 38,206,000 We Have Everything 120,544,000 At THE LOWEST PRICES IN TOWN1 55,880,000 90,114,000 31,910,000 18,808,000 641,000 247,082,000 2,479,818,000 dances.
