With some cooperation from the weatherman, the swimming pool in Murray park will open for the season on Saturday, May 28. - Swimming lessons for children (age 4 and older) at the beginning level are being offered through much of the summer. The series of k sessions begins June 13, with registration to be completed 10 days before each session. Recreational swimming will be available at both the park pool and the indoor facility at Murray high, with season passes interchangeable. Tennis lessons are being offered by the department at Southwood park, 6125 So. 725 East. Lessons will be available to adults only in the evening on the lighted courts, as well as for both youths and adults during morning hours. The first instruction period starts June 6, with the final session getting under way on July 18. The Murray Community Education program offers a variety of activities during the summer months, with karate classes scheduled to begin on June 1 at the Murray Community center. The week of June 6, exercise classes will get under way at Liberty school at the Community center. Youth gymnastics classes will begin the same week, as will swimming lessons at the indoor pool.
