The brunch was held at the Delta 1873. I All year round, I might say, but my year begins In March and to heck with January. That month might be fine for financiers, astrologists, calendar makers and so forth, but January, to me, is one great big blah and my only hope then is for it to get over with in a hurry. But March. That's when my world comes alive and keep hoping we won't get a big snow storm. You see, when we do get a big one, it fills my driveway with an impassable drift and need help to get my car out. The lawn right next to it is blown so clean every frozen blade of grass stands up at attention, but my driveway? Knee deep. I I So then I begin hoping Joe will see my predicament and come plow me out. He is a neighbor beyond 'hoping for and I can in no way repay him, but my oh my, my blessings pour upon his head. His interest also extends to brightly colored weather vanes which he fashions into a variety of birds that fly only when the wind blows. Included in his flock are road runners, pheasants, chickens and ducks. Surprisingly youthful in his outlook on life, Mark enjoys being with young people. The motto by which he lives is: Always keep busy. But most importantly, speak kindly to everyone you meet. grandchildren and 32 hand-tie- celebrated his 85th birthday early this year surrounded by friends and relatives who enjoyed cake and ice cream at the home of his daughter Jeane (Mrs. Aaron Dee) Doxford in West Valley City. The early celebration was prompted by the fact that Mark will be visiting with a son in Idaho for the next several weeks. So the natal day observance was moved up to accomodate his plans. Born to Joseph Edwin and Ester Burbank Romrell on April 6, 1898, in Wiford, Idaho, Mark is one of two children to survive in a family of seven. A former resident of Magna, his brother Rollo still lives there. Married to Phoebe Elizabeth Walker on March 2, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, they became the parents of seven children. I Don's one of the most delightful men I know and I look forward to his visit. He receives my brand of humor with a tolerant smile and then seriously tells me what I've been doing right or wrong in regard to keeping some of my shekels for my own use rather than sending them to El Salvador and such places. Don Johnson also comes in March to plow my garden spot and always hope I'll be home when he comes so that can have the joy of watching him turn the soil over like a dark ribbon. But hope he'll come at the right time so that the fertilizer will have had time to arrive and be spread out. hope he'll come late enough to uproot the first batch of sprouted weeds and yet not so early that he simply cultivates them so they whoop with joy and come up in droves. I Mrs. Mike Johnston I I Granger Graduates Wed April is another month of hope. 'Tis the time I begin hoping Merlin will plant the garden at the right time. You know, before it's too hot and yet not too early to get frozen. I also hope the pheasants won't watch him plant, for if they do, the next morning they'll follow his every step eating every seed Merlin so carefully dropped. Mike Johnston and Tammy Fiack exchanged marriage vows in a double-rinceremony performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, on March 17th. A wedding breakfast was held at the Lion House and later that same evening a reception was given at Granger East Stake house. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert O.
