From Magna Rev. lt - Chamber Learns Of Paper's Move MAGNA. There will be another empty building in the old part of town here, with the vacancy being created by the Magna Times moving today (Thursday) to the Kearns area. The official announcement of the change was made last week by Lois Knutsen, managing editor, who was guest speaker at a Magna Chamber of Commerce session. In explaining the reason for the move, Mrs. Knutsen said that changing economics within the printing world was responsible for the demise of the weekly in its present form. But she hastened to add that even though the publication would no longer be known as the Magna Times, there would be Magna news included in the new format. She went on to ex- plain that even though it will no longer be based in Magna and the name will be changed, she will continue to live here. We plan to have news from all three communities, Kearns, Hunter and Magna, which will be on the west end of our circulation, she said. "All production work will be carried out in ex-tre- the Kearns area instead of being done in Fallon, Nev. as it has been for the past several months. Mrs. Knutsen also sai0 that the paper will be printed in Tooele and she will continue as managing editor. The name change and the change in format will go into effect in early October, according to Fred Moss of Allied Press-Internationa- pur- chaser of the paper. It could be the Mountain West Moss said, Times, but we havent decided yet. In answer to a query concerning its distribution, Moss said it would not be distributed house to house like the Green Sheet. He added that from time to time, 30,000 to 40,000 papers would be mail- ed periodically as samples, but they intend to keep their subscription base. For the present, the subscription rate will remain the same, he added. SOME PEOPLE THINK FURNACE UPKEEP IS A LOT OF HOT AIR. l, And they're right.
