Show jg Eightieth Birthday Celebrated By Gladys Rigby Holman WEST VALLEY VIEW e Thursday, May 7, 1981 Taylorsville Couple United In Salt Lake LDS Temple The family of Gladys Rigby Holman will honor her on the occa sion of her 80th birthday with an open house at the home of her daughter, Betty Pearson, the evening of May 9th from 4 to 8 p m The address is 1 102 East 4500 South Gladys was born May 10, 1901, in Wanship, Summitt County, Utah. She was the youngest of eight daughters born to Barnett and Ann Maria Smith Rigby. When Gladys was 11 years old she moved from Wanship with her family to Salt Lake and she remained there until 1948 Taylorsville couple, Kory M Holdaway and Debra L Rupp, was married April 14 in the Salt Lake cereLDS Temple in a double-rin- g mony. After the ceremony the wedding attended a breakfast al paity Chuck-a-ram- a and that evening a reception was held at the Old Mee ting House. The bride is the daughter of Mrs JoAnnS Rupp and the late Marvin J Rupp She is a graduate of Cottonwood and has attended BYU andtheUofU. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Larry M Holdaway and is al so a graduate of Cottonwood high He is currently attending the UofU and has filled an LDS mission to Halifax, Canada Barbie Rupp was maid of honor for her sister and Tami Pettit, Lisa Hardy and Tonya and Angie Hold aw ay were bridesmaids Connie Knight attended the guest book Richard Rupp perfoi med the duties of best man while Ken and Doug Rupp. Paul Hardy and Den ms Sargent usheied The two honeymooned in Southwill make their home ern Utah and in Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs LenA Bayles Gladys as a child Winder 3rd ward where she is active in many auxiliaries She has been an Ordinance worker at the Salt Lake LDS Temple for 11 years and is a genealogist for her family, w ard and stake Gladys has been active in civic functions in the community and served as district chairwoman in Salt Lake and was a PTA president Mrs Holman now enjoys spending time with her 19 grand children and 23 great-grandchildie- Gladys Rigby Holman At that time she and her husband Willard Holman, whom she married in February 15. 1922, purchased acreage on 4500 South That area is now known as Holman Sub-diviso- Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct 24.1923 Gladys and Willard became three children, Ruth J B (Mrs Cunningham, Salt Lake. Betty (Mrs Ralph W Pearson, Murray and Willard Bill James Holman who lives in Pleaparents of ) i sant Grove Willard died on December 1, 1964, and Gladys has continued to live on 4500 South at the home of her daughter Betty.
