Show WEEKLY REFLEX DAVIS NEWS JOURNAL, JANUARY 3, 1980 NORTH DAVIS LEADER, JANUARY 3, JV : 1980 Davis County If Lynn Criddle Tournament A To Retire In vr . . Huge Success February 29th fX, i 1 V" - ByDAVEWIGHAM LAYTON Lynn A. Criddle, Davis County executive director for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for the past I6V2 years, will retire on Feb. 29. Clearfield and Bountiful High schools had established a home floor advantage throughout the years in basketball and people started to wonder what effect the new gymnasiums would have on that advantage. XCxCixV WELL FOLLOWING the completion of the first annual Davis County Holiday tournament its safe to say that the Braves and Falcons are still going strong on their home HIS COMING retirement was announced recently in the ASC Convention by Ben A. Thurgood, chairperson of the Davis County ASC Committee for 1980. In a recent story published about the convention, Mr. Criddle was mistakenly referred to as Lynn A. Burton," rather than Lynn A. The Falcons had won the four team event up in their new gym in overtime while the Bountiful five were using the home floor to win ' ' their little tournament. - THEN ON Friday the two got together for the title with the Falcons winning by a single point in four overtimes. Thats not a misprint, it took them four extra periods to decide the winner of this event. Viewmont, who dropped a game to Bountiful a night earlier, came back to nip Olympus for third place in the tournament. ALL IN ALL it was a successful tournament with interest in basketball up throughout the county. There were a few surprises though. One has to wonder what the students at Layton High were doing while their basketball team was in the tournament. On the second night of action when the Lancers played Weber in the Bountiful gym you could count the number of Layton students in attendance on two hands. And then have fingers to spare. '; His successor will be chosen by the local ASC Committee, made up of Mr. , Thurgood, William B. Rigby, Centerville, vice chairperson, and Jack D. Stevenson, member. : ' son-in-la- -- :cpa. Wx,, ?.
