He was educated In the Weber County achooJs, attended Weber State College for 2 years, and earned his IhS. degree In education from Utah State University In 19G2. Congressman McKay has owned and operated a small retail business and taught history in the Ogden Public School System. McKay has served In church leadership positions as well as many civic organizations in the Weber County area. lie still runs the family form in Huntsville. McKay and his wife, Donna Beisinger McKay, are the parents of 10 children and 11 grandchildren. Congressman McKay is the recipient 'of the 19S0 WATCHDOG OF THE TREASURY AWARD from the National Associated Businessmen, and the Abraham 0. Smoot Public Service Award from Brigham Young University in 1977. As a member of Congress, we have been able to win some victories for Utah and our people. My position as chairman of the House Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee has given us the necessary strength to win our battles on the floors of Congress.
