Distributive Education Clubs of America held a National Career Development Conference and National Competition in Las Vegas, Nev. during 1. the week of April TEN AREAS of competition were included in which students from all over the United States participated. Brent Layton, Utah State President of J.C. DECA attended the conference. He was awarded second place in the area of management- - THE ADVISOR of DECA at Weber State College is John Burkes. The state advisor is k & 3 v ", V v. j v" Ada Forbes, left, Harriet Barnes and Alleen Nelson are three of the nearly 30 Layton residents who have attended the weekly senior citizen meetings and pot luck dinners that have been held each Tuesday for the past six weeks at the old East Layton City Hall. LAYTON Merlene Fowler, who just returned from a year and a half in England, where she filled an LDS mission in the England Leeds Mission, will report her experiences on Sunday. They had ten minutes to prepare their answers, then five minutes to make their presentations to a panel of seven judges. The judges then had five minutes to ask them questions.
