She is a member of the Kaysville 8th Ward and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Heywood. By NORMA PREECE G. L. A talented vocalist, he sang in the original Farmington Quartet and had sung at hundreds of funerals and other ser- GEORGE LLOYD HESS George Lloyd Hess, age 76, 22 North 200 East, Farming-ton- , died May 27, 1982 in the Lakeview Hospital of a heart attack. MR. HESS was born June 11, 1905 in Riverside, Utah, a son of Orson Pratt and Francis Ann Tubbs Hess. He married Ruth Turner May 18, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked at Miller Floral in Farmington for 14 years and at Hill AFB for 30 years until retiring. HE WAS active in the Farmington 5th Ward where he was Clyde W. and Lee Neely Rigby. HE WAS an eighth grade student at Kaysville Jr. High School and a lifelong resident of Kaysville. He attended elementary school in Kaysville and was a member of the Farmington 10th Ward where he was active in boy scouts and was a deacon. berlain of Honeyville have been visiting with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ward, and also with Mrs. Ruth Nelson another daughter, Mrs. Jolene Starkey. Mr. and Mrs. Glen W. Hill returned last week from a two week trip to Japan where they visited with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Summers and children who reside in Hayama, Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith returned from an eight day stay at Lake Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Joe F. Preece returned Wednesday from a three week vacation to New Mexico and Texas. They were guests in Santa Fe, N.M. of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Keeler. They attended the graduation exercises of their daughter, Shannette, on May 8 who received her masters degree in social work from the New Mexico Highlands University. After spending two weeks x there they traveled on to San Antonio, Texas where they were the guests of Major and Mrs. Scott Cheney and two daughters, Becky and Shelly Jo, and also of Lt. Col. (ret.) and Mrs. Lawrence Neuber-ge- r and family for the remainder of their time. They also spent time at Corpus Christi on the Gulf of Mexico before returning home. Miss Lori Godfrey will receive her associate degree in nursing (RV) on June 3 during pinning ceremony at USU in Logan. The commencement exercises will be held June 4 at Weber State College. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Godfrey, will attend both exercises with their daughter. Lori has accepted a position at McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden after graduation. Dr. and Mrs. Nohl Sandall of Afton, Wyo. are announcing the birth of their son born on Deadline May 25 in the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. To welcome the newcomers is Garon, Derek, Morgan and Sheradan. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. G. Linn Sandall, Kaysville, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Mickelson, Centerville. Howard and Qa Sedgwick of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., visited with her brother, Wendell Scoffield of BountifUl, and other relatives in the area for the Memorial Day holiday. John B. Rigby John Blaine Rigby, 13, of 1153 S. Main St., Kaysville, died May 27, 1982 in the Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City after a lingering illness. Purchase '' , Former Resident Dies In Colorado Alta Mae Sill Bair, former Layton resident, died May 18, 1982 in Glenwood Springs, Colo. Born in Layton, Ut., Feb. 17, 1915 to Joseph and Marietta Welling Sill, she was educated in Layton and graduated from Davis High School in 1933. She married Elwood F. Bair Oct. 25, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple moved to Glenwood Springs, Colo where they were sheep ranchers. Utah Stake Conference Set President Frank Lombardo and his counselors are announcing that stake conference will be held June 6 for all members of the Clearfield Utah Stake. On June 4 all members of the stake who hold temple recommends are invited to a special temple session in the Ogden Temple starting at 7 p.m. The meeting schedule for the conference session is as follows: JUNE 5 4 p.m., all priesthood leaders will meet; June 5 at 7 p.m. all adult members of the stake ages 18 and over. These two meetings will be held in the Clearfield Stake 5-- Center, 925 S. State Street. June 6 at 8 a.m. a special youth session of the conference will be held in the wards chapel for all youth of the stake. The chapel is located at 838 E. 600 S., Clearfield. General session will be held at 10 a.m. in the Stake Center for all members and friends. A Special Interest and Young Special Interest choir will provide the music for Controls th this session. A GENERAL Authority of the Church will be in attendance and will preside over the conference sessions.
