MR. EVANS will speak on new and needed highway laws and regulations. Other guests will include Kaye Browning and Martin Aaron, candidates for the House of Representa ' tives from District 13, and Mary Stark and Henry Dicka-morDistrict 13 candidates or state representatives. Ruby Price, party vice chairperson, said, The purpose of the womens Republican club is to educate women to know party organization both state and local, and to know the political issues, to encourage political activity among women, to build leadership, to elect Republican candidates, to build an active membership and cooperate with county party officials. e, IT IS also set up to encourage women to become more involved in community and civic projects, she added. Gentile, Layton, Ut. 84041. . m I i i SEEKING HISS CLEARFIELD TITLE Seven Clearfield women are seeking the title of Miss Clearfield, with the pageant set for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the Clearfield High School auditorium. Admission is 75 cents for children and $1 for adults with 30 youngsters also competing for the Little Miss and Mister Clearfield title; Scholarships will be awarded to queen contest winners while trophies will be awarded to Miss Talent and Miss Congeniality. All entrants in the Little Miss and Mister competition will receive gifts, as well. Craig G. Fisher will serve as master of ceremonies. The Miss Clearfield contestants are: Callie McClellan, left, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McClellan; Jodie Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. McShane; Alesia Webb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Webb; Shurre Yaunt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Yaunt; Pam Townley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donal Townley; Diana Stockhaus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stockhaus and Sheri Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Price. The will enter the MTC July 29. They are members of the Kaysville Second Ward. COMMISSIONED Sherman L. Fleek is commissioned as 2nd lieutenant while father, Glenn, witnesses swearing in. Serman L. Fleek, a graduate of Layton High School in 1973, was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant U.S. Army, on direction of Lt. Col. J. Thomas Kallunki. The oath of office was given to Lt. Upon his return, he completed an LDS Mission, prior to attending BYU he will be called to active duty in an armor and helicopter attack unit upon graduation this winter. She is the only high school student in the western U.S. to have received a George Washington Freedoms Foundation Medal for speaking up democracy. She is active in FHA, model U.N., GIRLS STATE gives junior girls a chance to learn of our democratic system of government through this experience which allows the students to organize the government for a mythical state.
