Johnson of Bountiful, has clowned all his life; but only in the last 5 years officially with costume and make up. THE DAYS of 47 celebration officials put Les E. Johnson in charge of the clowns in the parade and since that time Bananas had to do a crash course to learn about clowning. He then had to teach the 14-1- and donts of clowning to hundreds of would be parade clowns. Mr. Johnson has been in charge of training clowns for the West Jordan Days parade, the Orem July 4th parade, Salt Lake County Fair parade, the Days of 47 Youth and 24th of July parades and a few others dos throughout the region. Mr. Johnson has been the official March of Dimes Clown for six years and the unofficial clown for the March of Dimes. HE PERFORMS at county fairs, in Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala, at birthday parties, business promotions, family reunions and has worked out of costume as a volunteer for the Primary Childrens Medical Centers Youth Development for 6V2 years. He does not do rodeo clown- -' per- MR. JOHNSON designs his own costumes. His show generally consists of a balloon routine making balloon animals and a myriad of gags and antics with his special long balloons, along with a smathering of magic which keeps the kids howling.
