Recent visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hutchison were Glen and Tcrrie Green and three children of Erhraim, also Bob and Karen Jcppson of Provo. Mr. and Mr. Bud Tice and family; Mr. and Mr. David Bigg and family, spent last week on a family outing at Mirror Lake. H. Glen Austin underwent eye surgery at the McKay-DeHospital last week, Mr. and Mr. Earl Goaslind entertained at a family gathering for member of their family on Saturday. Guest were Mr. and Mr. Craig Goaslind. Mr.' and Mrs. Tad Goaslind and families of Bountiful; Dr. and Mr. Gary Goaslind and family of Spokane, Wash. Miss Gayle Lee left Monday to serve her mission in the Switzerland Mission. She is the daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Maurice Lee. Mrs. Carolyn Andersen and daughter, DeVonya, eryoyed a 29 day vacation touring the countries of Tahiti, New Zea- land, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong. Malaysia, China and Japan. They visited the Tokyo LDS Temple and many places of interest in each city and country. Jackson, son of Homer and Vergie Jackson of Manchester, Ky., has been decorated with the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Hill AFB, Utah. 6. visited former friends and spent time sightseeing and enjoyed a trip to Lake Powell with the Mannings. Diana, Nate and Margaret Reid of Cape Cod, Mass, arrived this week to visit two weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bowring, and with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bowring in Salt Lake City. Swan attended the national livestock producers meeting at the Disneyland Hotel in California last week. French visitors last week of Bishop and Mrs. Maurice Lee were Jerard and Jacqueline Deslaurier and their two daughters Sophie and Christine of Paris, France. During their week stay they visited Temple Square and the Visitors Center, Lagoon and the Slides at Park City as guests of the Lees. It was a marvelous rs LAYTON MALL'S REBIRTH It was a new grand opening for the two year old Layton Hills Mall, over the weekend, complete with a visit from Sesame Streets Big Bird himself, who shared some of his awesome wisdom for TaiLa Yamamoto of Layton. A fashion show, balloon rides, musical programs and free give-awa- y were among the myriad of events that drew people to the mall, now owned and operated by the Salt Lake d Clark Financial Corp. City-base- reunion for all. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Coulam, Mr. and Mrs. Orwin Draney and family and Mrs. Neva' Woodward and three children of Kaysville attended the Joseph Orton family reunion held at Farmington Park on July 31. Two hundred descendants were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hutch- inson and children have re- turned from visiting relatives in southern Utah and friends California where they stayed at the home of Pat Patterson Colton. They attended an open house for Dee and Mary Pat terson who are making their home in San Bernardino. Mary is the former Mary D. Hutch inson of Kaysville. ' Tammie Bitters, daughter ol Mrs. Dorothy Bitters, and Cheryl Wilcox, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wesley Wilcox are attending Business Week at USU in Logan this week. Fourteen girls from the Kaysville 9th Ward attended summer camp . They worked on hiking and other camp re' quirements. Cambria Smith was the camp director. Sherman Cloward returned home from a week spent in Cario, Egypt on a government business trip. Mrs. Fiona McLachlan of South Africa is spending three .weeks in Kaysville with Mr. and Mrs. R.A.F. McCormick and. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bowman. Fiona made her home with both families while attending Davis High School on the Foreign Exchange prog' ram. She received her degree in Johanesburg and will con tinue her law education at Cor nell University in New York. She spent this week with the Bowman family at Bear Lake and the weekend at Island Park with the McCormick family Elder Don Buhler was met by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Buhler at Adelaide, Australia where he completed serving his mission or the LDS Church. They toured the couo try and returned home Friday evening after a three week vacation. Mr. and Mrs. R.A.F McCormick, her brother, Douglas Elkins, and Gay Hawkins, Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Clark returned from deep sea fishing in West-poBeach, Oreg. recently. Melissa and Daniel Polha-mu- s of Bennion, Ut. were Friday overnight guests of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kirby. Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Barker, Layton; George F. Barker, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Webster and son David, Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Orval Sorenson and all of their family of Fruit Heights; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kusuda of Ogden, were dinner guests in Layton Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sorenson. They all attended the blessing and naming of the Sorensons baby daughter who was named Stephanie at the Layton ward. Rejoicing over the arrival of their first daughter are attorney and Mrs. Steven Major. She arrived on Aug. 2 at the Davis North, Medical Center and will be named Kathryn Hope. At home are brothers Neil and Danny. Mrs. Major is the former Susan Brown of Clearfield. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Major of Kaysville and Mrs. Sally Arellano of Clearfield. The Kaysville 4th Ward held their annual overnight camping outing at Willow Park in rt Logan. Greg Farmer of Tucson, Ariz. was a house guest last week of Mr. and Mrs. Allen L. Strong. Bishop and Mrs. Bengt Jonsson took her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown of Garland on a vacation trip to Colorado for one week visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and the Denver Area. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stauffer are announcing the arrival of a daughter, Katie Lynn, born HosJuly 8 at the McKay-De- e pital. They have two daughters at home, Stephanie and Andrea. Mrs. Stauffer is (he former Terol Williams of Kaysville. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Dentzel Williams. Kaysville, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stauffer, Ogden. Dean Sanders underwent open heart surgery last w eek at the LDS Hospital in SLC. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Williams of Laguna Hills, Calif, visited a few days last week with his sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. E. Van Sanders and with other relatives in Salt Lake City and Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Cony of Cedar City were weekend guests of Mrs. Nina Palmer. Mr. Corry is a brother. Tracy Smith, 5 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Deane Smith, has been confined to the hospital for surgery. He is now at home convalescing. Lt. Col. (ret.) and Mrs. Russell Massey has enjoyed a visit from their daughter and her family, Lt. Col. and Mrs. Ron Daskevich of Langley AFB, Va. Col. Daskevich will now be stationed at Hill AFB and the family will make their home in Cloward. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Pitt. Mrs. Renee McCullough and families attended the Burraston family reunion held at Mona. I't. for three days last weekend. Mrs. Lela Wright is confined to the McKay-De- e Hospital undergoing treatment. Dinner guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuart were Mrs. Ada Mae Tucker of Delta. Colo., Mrs. Effie Gillespie of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Margaret Buckman of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor and family of Indianapolis, Ind. are visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Barton. Returning from a combined business and pleasure trip to Mexico City are Mr. and Mrs. Don Rich. Mr. Rich spent three weeks working there and his wife joined hime for the last two weeks returning home together. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuart, Mr. and Mrs. Deon Stuart, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Forsyth and all of their children drove to Driggs, Ida. where they attended the Alexander Stuart Layton. Also visiting with Col. and Mrs. Massey for the last two weeks is their son Chazz Massey of Sacramento, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis na at home. Mrs. Felt is the former Tina Silotti of Kasysillc. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Silotti and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Felt, both of Kayssille. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bourne. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Cloward. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clo- ward and family of Orange, Calif, have been visiting with both of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cloward and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Whicker. They also visisted in Grand Junction, Colo, where they attended Mr. and Mrs. Forest Clodfelters 50th wedding anniversary open house. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Quilter announced the arrival of a son born to them on July 21 at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful. He will be named Chad Steven. They have another son at home, Christopher. Mrs. Quilter is the former Gayla Haacke of Bountiful. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Haacke, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Quilter, all of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Allen L. Strong were guests of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Farmer at their summer home in White Mountains, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Kim Madison have moved to Vernal to make their home. A visitor last week of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuart was their grandson, Robert Stuart of Redlands, Calif. He is leaving for Germany on an assigment with the U.S. Army. Bishop and Mrs. Robert Dunford and their family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dunford and Children, Layton; Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Dunford and children of Kaysville; Charlotte Dun-for- d of Salt Lake City enjoyed a vacation at Midway at a fami-- y summer cabin. Mrs. Ann Graham has been confined to the Davis North Medical Center for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Mitchell were dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Fillin for their granddaughters first birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Felt welcomed a daughter into their lome July 3. She will be named Jndsay. They have two other children, Brandon and Brian- - family reunion over the weekend. Over 150 descen- dants enjoyed the deep pit barbecue dinner. Val and Marge Walton and family have moved to Farmington to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rigby are announcing the arrival of their son, Lance John, born on June 22 at the Davis North Medical Center. At home are Rachell, Kristy and Tyson to welcome him. Mrs. Rigby is the former Judy Felt of Kaysville. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blamires, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Felt, all of Kaysville, Melvin Rigby, Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kinsman attended the Odd Fellows grand lodge session held at Hawthorne, Nev. for a week. Mike and Cheryl Atwood and family have moved to Logan to make their new home. Houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Manning were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Capener. Mr. Capener is with the sociol- ogy department at Cornell University at Ethica, N.Y. He recently spent two years in Africa teaching on an ex- change program. He also spent time in India and Washington, D.C. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Felt vacationed in California, Arizona and Mexico. The Rodney Felt family held their annui family reunion at Bear Lake. Paul Kirby, national FFA winner, will be on Whats Right With America Channel 5 on Aug. 16. Paul is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kirby. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cour-reg- and four children of Lafayette, La. spent a week visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hutchinson and family. Dr. Melvin Nielsen recently underwent surgery and is convalescing at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Spackman have been visiting with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Stewart at Soda Springs, Ida. |
