ARDEN ENGEBRETSEN Temple Rites Deborah Poulsen became the bride of Arden Allen in the Jordan River LDS Temple on Nov. 20. William B. Martin, uncle of the groom, performed the cere- mony. THE BRIDE is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. Lloyd Poulsen. 2083 Ridge Road, Layton. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arden B. Engeb-retse- n of Wilmington, Delaware. The couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at the W'hite House Reception Center following the ceremony. In the evening a reception was held for them at the home of the bride. THE BRIDES gown featured a lace bodice trimmed with gathered lace. Her fingertip veil had a crown of silk . white roses. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. Attendants for the bride were her sisters, Tamara and .Barbara, along with her sister-in-laJoan Poulsen. Flower girls were her nieces, Kimber- - ; 1 1 ley and Kristi Poulsen. They wore dusty rose dresses and carried traditional bouquets of pink pixie carnations. THOMAS G. PYKE ing. He is a lifetime resident of Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah in banking and finance. Ellen Dibble attended the Lockhart Co. for 20 years where he is now vice president and supervisor for the State of Utah and a member of the guest book. Prenuptial parties were given by Ellen and Carmen board of directors. HE IS a member of the Salt Lake Kiwanis Club and vice chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Salt Lake City. He is a member of the executive boards of the Utah Opera Company, Pro Musica of Utah and Young Audiences. His lifetime interest in music has kept him active in music circles. He has sung in several Dibble, Joan Poulsen, Jill McComb, Jackie Olsen and Colcen Poulsen. DEBORAH is a graduate of Layton High School and LDS Seminary. She received her Associate Degree from Ricks College and attended Brigham Young University. Arden graduated from Bradywine High School in Wilmington, Delaware, and served an LDS mission in Montevideo, Uruguay. After a skiing trip to Jackson Hole, Wyo., the couple will make their home in Provo where Deborah will continue her employment with Castle-ton'- s and Arden will furtherhis studies at Brigham Young AMAHL and the Night Visitors is being jointly sponsored by the Layton Civic Arts Asso-- 1 ciation and the Parks and Recreation Department. HALE Exchange Vows LAYTON - William Rees has been named the associate executive director at Davis North Hospital, following a career in hospital administration at hospitals in the South and Midwest. THE BRIDE is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Kimball, Jr. of Ogden. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Clair Hales of Layton. The couple was honored at a reception at the Eccles Art Center in Ogden. THE BRIDES flowers were heather and orchids. Maid of honor was Melissa Kimball with Kathy Nellis and Vicki Manful as bridesmaids. They wore taupe colored gowns and flowers were heather and orchids. THE BRIDES mother wore a beige afternoon dress with cream lace. The grooms mother wore a silver-blu- e afternoon dress. Flowers were babys breath, heather and pink roses. Best man duties were performed by Paul Fishbum with Ronald Hales, Michael Hales and Steve Pugmire as ushers. PRENUPTIAL parties were given by Mary Fields, Layton and Lucinda Wagner, Kaysville. The bride attended Stevens Henegar and is working as an executive secretary at the school. The groom received a finance degree from Weber State. AFTER a honeymoon to the West Coast, they will make their home in Ogden. A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom. Attending were parents and members of the bridal party. groups. HE HAS sung the tenor lead in the Messiah several times having a special love for this great work. Mr. Pike has conducted Messiah on several occasions in the Salt Lake area. He and his wife are the parents of six children. This performance of Handels Messiah is open to the public. All who would like to participate in singing are invited on Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 S. Main, Kaysville, 8 p.m. Linda Margetts and Artelle Rigtrup will play the organ accompaniment. Anyone who acters are several Layton musicians. and talented Layton musician. Kathy Skidmore is the musical director. n THE LEAD role of Amahl is played by Wynn Gates, a boy soprano who is a former Layton resident now living in Ogden. Wynn has held leading roles in many other musical productions including the We-bState College production of Oliver and the traveling musical production of Charley's Monument. The mother is portrayed by Jeanne Day of Layton. er THE THREE kings are Dennis Wright of Layton taking the part of Melchior; Robert Petersen of Morgan singing the Balthazar role and Marvin Alexander of Bountiful portraying Kasper. " AMAHL and the Night ' Visitors is being directed by Ronald Peterson, well-know- n CHOREOGRAPHY is under the direction of Dorothy O'Brien of Bountiful. A shepherd's chorus and a dancing group is comprised of children, high school students and parents from Layton. AMAHL and the Night Visitors is the story of a crippled boy and his mother who receive a surprise visit from the three wise men. They are on their journey to Bethlehem to visit the Christ child. The boy is miraculously healed and he joins the wise men to search out the Christ child and give his crutch as a gift. . The opera was originally written for television. Since is was first performed in 1951 "Amahl and the Night Visitors has steadily gained in popularity. It has been performed all over the world. Job Corps Students Will Give Baskets University of Utah and Pioneer Memorial Theatre Heather Lin Kimball and Robert C. Hales were married Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Church of Good Shepherd by the Rev. Francis Winder. MR. REES, the son of a chemical engineer, attended schools in Buffalo, New York and Kokomo, Ind., graduating from Earlham College, a small liberal arts institution in Richmond, Ind. He then enrolled in the hospital administration program at Georgia State University, graduating in 1975. I was the youngest student in my class, he laughs, but I found the hospital field highly interesting. Its an opportunity for a person to really help others. PRIOR TO joining Davis North, Mr. Rees was involved in administration of hospitals in Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Atlanta, Ga. THE OPERA is very suitable and enjoyable family entertainment. It is less than one hour in length. Tickets should be purchased well in advance of the performances because there is limited seating. Prices for the tickets are $1 forchildren under 12; S3 for adults and $10 per family.
