With this second straight home game, the Falcons can get off on the right foot for a good season. Sept. 9 Clearfield at Davis 6-- 0, QUARTERBACKS. Senior Jeff Parry, 155, is by far above the rest of the field at this time. Hancock likes his skills as an athlete and .calls him an excellent competitor. "Parry isnt really big, but he makes up for it in toughness. We started him as a defensive back last year and might have to use him there again. He got some varsity experience against Bonneville and Alta last year at QB, but had his eyes opened to the world of varsity football. Hell be the key to our success, said Hancock. 7:30 p.m. has a history of snubbing Clearfield. It was two year's ago that the Falcons looked to have the game sewn up at halftime, only to lose. Then last year the clock ran out just before Clearfield could come back to Davis two-ye- ar win. Sept. 16 at Clearfield Layton (Homecoming) Slugging in out with arch rivals, what a way to start the regular season. It was the overtime win over Layton last October that propelled the Falcons into the playoffs. Sept. 23 Clearfield at Weber BACKING UP Parry will be juniors Greg 170. This time around, coach Hancock gets a chance to coach against one of his former college football players from Weber State. Sept. 30 Clearfield at Bonneville 7:30 p.m. Bonneville has been a perennial football power. Clearfiled figures it's about time to pluck a feather back and put it in their cap. Look for Folk, Wood, and Moore to staple down a lot of playing time here. These three saw a lot of varsity action as linebackers last year. Others that could come in to spell them, or could find a starting role, are Labato, Porter, Boren and Bozeman. DEFENSIVE SECONDARY. Parry saw plenty of action last year at a DB spot, but Hancock would like to keep him on offense if at all possible. Parry will probably see some time here until others mature into the position. Martin backed up Bubba Conley at free safety last season and hell be expected to do the job this year. Others that will and could see some playing time are Moore, Henrie, Hatch, Murray, Dixon, Van Buren, Ferguson and Glauser. '' u it11' ' i I ;f x ,.
