Those crimes included such incidents as truck windows being shot and broken out, lambs beshot death to as ing they lay together sunning themselves next to the church fence, a boy being shot in the stomach with a BB gun by an unseen assailant who continued to shoot at his victim as he ran away, a dog shot in the neck at close range with a shotgun (it survived), another dog was also injured by a gunshot. Windows have been broken in homes by rocks. The list seemed to go on and on. Mr. Martin showed slides that illustrated the wealth contained in the countys architectural heritage. He said that Manti, Ephraim, Spring City and Mt. Pleasant are ideally suited by both location and history to work together in a partnership that would not only be of advantage to them, but also to the entire county. He said they could work together in such activities as promotion, programs and other activities related to both preservation and economic development (apparently primarily through tourism). He added that this would require an organization, some coordination and a person who had ee TV-fre- d. local preservation and economic some training in activities like planning and promotion. We would provide the training, Mr. Martin said. Council members asked about costs. Mr. Martin suggested a first ear contribution of $1500 per city. The History Corridor would have the support of state agencies, Mr. Martin promised. And support money would be available from several sources. Councilman Douglas Dyreng concluded the History Corridor discussion by moving that Manti support the program and Council-woma- n Barbara Wintch seconded the motion. It then passed unanimously.
