Contrary to popular belief, you can make it through God-give- By:Emily Braithwaite Every single day when I walk down the hall I have a reoccurring thoughL...Is there someone for everyone but me? When I was a freshman, I thought it was just a freshmen thing and I would grow out of it. Then came my sophomore year, I was finally sixteen and I knew that the phone was about to start ringing off the hook wrong again. Then I was a Junior. It was the year ofthe most magical night of my life..The Junior Prom. I just knew that my life was about to change. Not even. Finally, my senior year came, lets just put itthisway....some things will never change. My chances of finding love in this high school high school without having a boyfriend or a girlfriend. I believe that high school is a time to have fun and find out who you are. I walk down the halls and see all these freshman couples and I am amazed! How can anyone devote their life to someone at age 14? How do you know he is really the one? How do you differentiate love and lust? I am 1 8 years old and I still don't know. But then again, I guess I dont really know what I am missing. I am sure it is nice to have someone to hold your hand. I am sure it is nice to have that overwhelming feeling of security. I have never known what it was like to have some had one. I have w atched all of my friends go through their little love traumas, and I know that I have saved myself a lot of heart ache. I have had my heart broke, and I hate that feeling of knowing things-aren'-t going to work out the way I want. To me, the best thing in the world is just having a boy be your best friend. The trust and friendships the opposite sex has to offer can be one of the most rewarding things in the world. The greatest friends I have ever had are boys. There is no pettiness and jealously. Just unconditional friendship and acceptance. The feeling ofknow-ingthe- y will always be there for me to make me laugh or give me a shoulder to cry on is enough for me. I wouldnt trade these things for any boyfriend in the world. Letter to the Editor Its me again - Mrs. Janet Hall. I wrote once before to express my high regards for some of your writers. Since I dont have any kids going to M.H.S., I feel 1 can be objective. So, I would like to extend my compliments to two more of your staff, namely Heidi Bailey and Brooke Birk. I, like Heidi, don't understand where the youth of today have misplaced their manners. It seems theyre so busy frying to hurry through their youth to get grown up that theyre skipping all the good things they need to be cause poor manners breed honing up on for the future. poor attitudes. And as for Manners are a very big part of Brooke, I honor and admire her for trying to make the kids being grown up. without manners, theyre only deadbeats, at M.H.S. realize that school doesnt last forever, and slackers, wannabes, and irreare manners Good you're supposed to use the sponsible. not a drawback, theyre an time to enjoy yourseif as weii asset. It teaches social etiquette and team spirit. The players need the cheering of the crowd to spur them on, and they are piaying their hearts out not only for the school they rep resent, but for the respect and admiration oftheir fellow classmates. So when their classmates don't bother to come and help cheer them on to victory, they sort of lose heart.
