Bonneville and Roy are the only undefeated teams in league play, and only Bonneville has a clean slate for all games. Roy was defeated by Olympus in its last n game. Weber and Clearfield are sporting 1 records, and wont concede nothing to nobody. The Warriors and Falcons each have victories over Sky View, but lost to Roy and Bonneville, respectively. Sky View, and defending champion Layton are winless in their first two games of Region One. Bonneville-2- 4 Layton7 Cory Sylvestor smoked the Lancers with touchdown passes to Tom Land and Cory Buckway in the first quarter, 13-1- ,y j j o . and Lloyd Togisala scampered 34 yards in the. second quarter to give the Lakers a 21-- 0 advantage, approaching halftime in Fridays game. The Lakers seemed destined to score again, but the Lancers sacked Sylvestor, caused him to fumble and Mike Adams scooped up the ball and rambled 85 yards for a TD, For Layton, the Bonneville game was much like the Roy game of a week earlier. The Lancers fell behind in the first half and were unable to score after the intermission, and thats how it happened when Roy came to town to spoil the Layton homecoming on September 20. The same thing happened in Laytons big loss to Capitol High of Boise, Idaho in its opener. Bonneville was able to score in the field second half, but only on a goal by Ted Rickard, who had earlier converted on the Lakers three touchdowns. Clearfield-2- 8 Skv View-- 9 The Falcons got back in the winning column with a big win that spoiled homecoming at Sky View. Clearfield exploded for three TDs in the second quarter to take a 21-- 3 lead at halftime, and then scored again in the third period to put the game way out of reach. The Bob Cats mustered a late, fourth quarter TD, but it was too little and too late, and the Falcons went home to celebrate. ' The Falcons scored first, just five seconds into the second quarter, when Bill Kelly scored up the middle on an run ; and Kevin Bitton kicked the extra point. Sky View got on the board in its next possession, when Mike Banks booted a field goal, but then the Falcons struck again. This time it was on a quarterback keeper for ten yards by Milt Hill, and Bitton made the PAT. He caught passes for almost 200 yards. Lance Hemmilwright, middle linebacker for North Ogden had an outstanding day on -- defensive. Buchanan and Hemmilwright both scored well, for North Ogden. The Knights defense oniy allowed the Redskins inside the North Ogden 50 once during the regular game. That was when the Redskins scored. Aragon said he felt the Knights made a superior effort.
