Show Two Education . Vetoed Bills Governor Scott Matheson has vetoed two educational bills that will have an impact on Davis County totaling more than 13.3 million. One veto eliminates the critical school building program. The legislature appropriated $15.6 million for the program that funds school districts that come up short because of rapid growth. Property tax revenue doesnt keep up with the growth of the district, so it comes up short before the end of the year. Davis School District officials estimate the loss of critical school building funds will mean the district will receive $1.8 million less than hoped for, according to Bonnie Durrance, public relations officer. The other bill that was vetoed means that the Davis Area Vocational Center will not receive the $1.5. million sought to begin construction of new buildings at the center. f Frances M.
