I, for one, was very glad to hear the 60 year old tradition being continued. After reading Orangevilles recap report of Orangeville Days, I didnt think this would happen. We are all having so many rights and privileges slowly taken from us. I hate to see our ancestors tradition taken away, too. Next someone will com- plain because our American Flags are flapping too loudly in the wind, and well have to take them down. Thank you to the Mysterious person or persons who chose to carry on the long time tradition. Susan Jensen Castle Dale Good people want success for others Dear Editor: kind friend of mine gave this poem to me one day when I was a little down; it helped me. While working with the public, I have seen so many times, the effects we all have on each other. There are a lot of good people that want success for others. Those people usually strive to improve themselves in their daily endeavors to help others. They are of value in their positions. Others complain and envy or hold false grudges that only harm themselves and the positions they hold. It would be my hope that we all would follow the advice of this little poem. Most people A have differences of opinion. There is always more than one right way. The outcome of these differences usually results in ANYWAY by.. .Anonymous People are usable, illogical and Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of ulterior motives. Do well anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for some underdogs anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People really need help but may attack you if you help them. I lelp people anyway. Give the world the best you have and youll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best share with our out of state friends and relatives who wish that they still lived here, too. The recognition of the many Century Farms and farming families stories is a splendid idea! What great roots they have planted and plowed into this arid soil that will last for generations to come because so many have cared enough to keep up the hard work for over 100 years. Wow! Also, every where have been lately Sanpete County for historic house Wendys for lunch, Green River for a Bike Rodeo, and even at the Minn St. Paul and Salt Lake Airports, I have met people coming for our Lamb Fry! Amazing! All because of great advertising that is keeping our county so alive and well. Sylvia H. Nelson An Emery County Fan I - site-seein- youve got anyway! Thanks to all for the wonderful fair Dear Editor: As the Emery County Fair apall the proaches, and I activities coming up, and about Grand Marshals, Montell and Kathryn Seely, in both the Fair Guide and the Progress Fair Guide Supplement, I want to express my gratitude to Kathy Justice, her committee, and busi re-rea- d son setting off the explosives should be DROPPED!!! The person(s) filing the complaint should be the one(s) to pay all the court costs and fines. After all, youre are trying to take away the Rights of all the citizens who enjoy OUR TRADITIONS and those with enough guts to follow them through and keep them alive for our children and to enjoy. Unfortunately, there always has to be ONE that complains and ruins it for the rest of us. A lot of people have put in countless hours and hard work to make our celebrations please everyone. Our sincere gratitude to all of You!!! Every year they are able to make each display more dazzling than the last. With the creative set pieces that Cory designs and builds, they managed to add a very patriotic and emotional atmosphere to the holiday celebration finale. In the past, Cory has designed a U. S. Flag, a dinosaur, the name CLEVELAND, and this years piece included two U. S. Flags with the word FREEDOM. Last year they even had a marriage proposal light up. So, to everyone who thinks they have the best seats on their front porch or yards, or even from your cars, you are missing the best part. Next year be sure to bring your blankets, come early, and get your front row seats under the stars. During the Fire Works, the men are busy lighting the display and making sure everything goes off as planned. It is very loud and needless to say, ex M tremely hot work. They can.rj hear the hundreds of oooohS; and aaaahs. However, they capjl see and hear the standing ov4-- j j tion they receive every year fol-j- i lowing the display. I understand that I may bpj slightly partial to our Town anfk I its Celebration, but Im just; passing on the sentiments of soj many people who tell me whqt a great show it is. If you see yellow leaves on the beans and pale green com plants, you are probably watering too much. If you see blossom end rot (the brown leathery patch on tomato fruits), knobby potatoes, or plants that wilt in the afternoon and look fine the next morning, you may not be watering often enough. What about timers? Irrigation timers are a great convenience, but they are major water wasters if you dont change the setting as the weather changes.
